Transit Tracker - NYC empowers riders to leverage the Metropolitan Transportation Authority's vehicle monitoring service, MTA Bus Time, providing real-time transit information directly to your fingertips. The data feeds used by Transit Tracker are freely provided by the MTA; more information is available here: https://new.mta.info/developers.

Transit Tracker - NYC also offers the convenience of downloading route schedules for Offline access.

With Transit Tracker - NYC, you can set up custom alerts for MTA routes and stops. Receive timely notifications when a vehicle on a specific route is approaching or arriving at a particular stop, ensuring you never miss your ride.

TRACKING

Simply enter one or more route numbers, separated by spaces or commas, to view all Vehicles currently operating on those routes. Alternatively, input a stop number to see all buses serving that stop, or enter an individual vehicle number (printed on the side of MTA buses) for precise tracking.

ROUTE SCHEDULES

- Request a route schedule for any MTA route by entering its number. Schedules can be viewed in a clear origin/destination table format or visualized on a map. On the map, tap on a stop to see the next scheduled arrival time for the bus or train. Tap the info window that appears for a comprehensive list of all scheduled times for that stop.

CLOSE STOPS

- Use your current location or specify an address (either entered manually or selected on a map) as the center point for finding nearby MTA stops. Customize your search by specifying the maximum number of stops to display and applying an optional route filter.

ALERTS

- Define custom alerts that trigger when an MTA vehicle is approaching or arriving at a specific stop. These alerts are based on the vehicle's distance from the stop, utilizing the route shape data provided by the MTA.

- Please be aware that these alerts rely on the vehicle following the route shape defined by the MTA. If the vehicle is on a detour or deviates from the defined route for any reason, your alert may not trigger as expected.

Other features:

- Choose between a light or dark theme to suit your preference.
- Display satellite imagery and/or color-coded traffic data on the map for enhanced situational awareness.
- Optionally prevent the map screen from dimming or turning off during use.
- Adjust the frequency at which MTA vehicle locations are updated.
- Select a custom ringtone for alerts to easily distinguish them.
