Air-Share is a Cloud-free Meta-Sharing application designed to share content seamlessly between devices on your local network. It offers a unique approach to sharing, enabling you to transfer files and data from a small screen to a larger one, such as your Android TV, without relying on screen casting.

**Important:** Air-Share is designed to operate exclusively on your local network (WiFi, Ethernet, or Bluetooth) and **does NOT function over mobile data networks.** Some vpn applications may interfere with the pairing process; disabling your VPN might resolve any pairing issues.

The app simplifies sharing to other devices such as your Android TV. Most apps have a share button, so you can share directly to a second device.

To use Air-Share:
1) Install Air-Share on both devices you wish to connect.
2) Pair the devices within the app.
3) Share content from your favorite app via Air-Share to the paired device.

Air-Share and Air-Launch extend the sharing and launching capabilities of Android apps, enabling the transfer of intents between devices on the same network.

More than just a file transfer tool, Air-Share operates as a mini web server within your local network, ensuring your shared data remains private and never leaves your home network. It supports sharing almost any content from apps with a share button, including large data streams. Air-Share also supports Google Cast.

Air-Share can share items that Chromecast can't. It allows you to queue media links on Android TV as recommendations or notifications for later viewing. You can also share content from PC, Mac, or iPad to your Android devices via a web browser.

This app is ideal for sharing content within families. It is compatible with Amazon Kindle/Fire devices, Android HDMI sticks, and older Google TVs.

Air-Share includes Air-Launch, a feature designed for remotely launching apps and side-loading APKs on devices like Android TV using your phone or tablet. Air-Launch is integrated into the Air-Share app but appears as a separate icon for user convenience.

App Launching: Tap the Air-Launch icon, choose a device, and select the app you want to launch.
APK Side-loading: Long-press an app name in Air-Launch to download the APK from the remote device.

Your files remain secure on your local network, and transferred files are saved in your Downloads directory.

With Air-Share, you can:
- Share apps (APK files)
- Share YouTube and Vimeo videos
- Share links from Facebook, G+, or RSS feeds
- Transfer photos and videos from your Gallery apps
- Share web-links and magnet URLs
- Share cut & paste buffers between devices (long-press places text into the remote device's paste buffer)
- Share files and office documents from your favorite file explorer (tested with Astro and ES Explorer)
- Transfer and instantly play music and movie files (MP3, MP4, etc.) or queue them as notifications for later enjoyment
- Share location data, gps coordinates, KML files, and Google Tracks
- Share contacts, people, and vcards
- Share files and web-links from any device with an HTML5 browser on your network.

App Side-loading: Air-Share can be used with "App Backup & Restore" (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mobi.infolife.appbackup) to side-load apps from your phone to your Android TV. Install Air-Share on both devices, pair them, load "App Backup & Restore" on your phone, choose an app to share, select "Share with other Apps," then choose Air-Share. Select your Android TV as the destination. (Ensure you enable settings to allow loading apps from outside the Play Store.) Side-load a web browser and apps like QuickPic (JPEG viewer). note that the Nexus Player is an x86 device, while your phone is likely ARM-based, so native apps might have issues.
