Given the vast library of available games, please be aware that performance may vary. Some titles may run flawlessly, while others might experience issues or may not be fully compatible with MAME4droid (0.139u1). We appreciate your understanding and encourage experimentation.

To optimize performance, consider the following tips: Activate GL mode for enhanced graphics, reduce sound quality or disable it entirely, and disable stick and button animations, as well as smooth scaling.

After installation, ensure your MAME-titled zipped ROMs are placed in the /sdcard/ROMs/MAME4droid/roms folder for seamless access.

Controls:
-----------

The emulator controls are as follows:
- Virtual pad: Offers movement in pad, mouse, and analog control for up to four players.
- Buttons B, X, A, Y, L, R: Mapped to buttons A, B, C, D, E, F.
- Button SELECT (Coin): Inserts credits (UP+SELECT = 2P credits, RIGHT+SELECT = 3P credits, DOWN+SELECT = 4P credits).
- Button START: Begins the game (UP+START = 2P start, RIGHT+START = 3P start, DOWN+START = 4P start).
- Buttons R1+START: Load a previously saved game state.
- Buttons L1+START: Save the current game state.
- Buttons L2: Exit to the game selection menu.
- Buttons START+SELECT simultaneously: Access the MAME menu.
- Button R2: Open the help menu and global settings.

note: To type "OK" when prompted by MAME, press LEFT and then RIGHT.

Supported Games:

MAME4droid (0.139u1) requires the '0.139' ROM set.

Ensure that game ROMs are copied into the roms/ folder.

ROM Names:
-----------

Romsets must be MAME 0.139 compliant (August 2010).

NOTE: Linux file and directory names are case-sensitive. Use lowercase for all file and directory names!

Sound Samples:
--------------

Sound samples enhance the audio experience for some older games.
Place them in the 'samples' directory, compressed as ZIP files.
Ensure that both the directory and ZIP files are named using lowercase!
