**Adapter Compatibility:**

**App Permissions:**

* Location permission (required by Android for Bluetooth access and WiFi SSID information)
* No unnecessary permissions are requested.

**Car Compatibility:**

* Since OBD-II is a standard protocol widely adopted after ~1996, all cars with an OBD-II port should be compatible with this app.

**Troubleshooting:**

* **Not Connecting?** Ensure the car ignition is on or the engine is running.
* **Still Not Connecting?** Test the ELM adapter with other OBD apps to verify its functionality.
* **Works with Other Apps, But Not This One?** Contact [email protected] with your adapter brand and version.

**Important Considerations:**

* Clearing trouble codes does not fix the underlying problem. Always address the root cause of the issue.
* Avoid clearing trouble codes before servicing your car, as technicians need this information for diagnosis.
* Using a standard, unmodified ELM327 adapter should not cause damage to your car. However, be cautious of extremely low-quality adapters that may have poor soldering, potentially causing short circuits. Most cars have protection against short circuits, but caution is advised.
* Normal ELM dongles cannot modify or write data to the car's bus.

* The app does not gather user information using analytics tools. User feedback through ratings and comments is highly valued.

**Exception Gathering:**

* Starting from 07.05.2018, the app sends connection failure exceptions, including the connected ELM adapter version (if available), to aid in resolving connection issues.
