Above average precipitation (including rain, snow and hail) is expected in the Northern Plains, Rockies, and Great Basin this season. By contrast, much of the Eastern United States is could be wetter than usual, particularly in the Southeast. We could also see above normal fire over parts of the Western U.S. this fall, where drought should also continue to be widespread in the next few months.
