wX is a free, ad-free, and open-source (GNU GPLv3) advanced weather application meticulously designed for storm chasers, meteorologists, and dedicated weather enthusiasts. It leverages NWS (National Weather Service) data, optimized for seamless mobile viewing, and provides access to specialized divisions like SPC, WPC, NHC, and OPC, typically not comprehensively covered in mobile platforms.

Featuring Level 3 and Level 2 Nexrad radar (single, dual, and quad pane views), wX utilizes a mobile-optimized version of OpenGL for enhanced radar display. note that wX is an independent application and is not affiliated with NOAA or the National Weather Service.

If your primary need is for current weather conditions and a basic 7-day forecast, wX might offer more features than you require, although it readily provides these functionalities. This app prioritizes data depth over visual embellishments or excessive screen usage. Due to the comprehensive nature of the information, new users might experience a learning curve; however, detailed help information is accessible within the app. Familiarity with common weather acronyms is beneficial. Currently, wX supports United States locations.

Comprehensive HELP resources are available via the main menu and by tapping on text within the settings pages.

- Access current forecasts, 7-day conditions, and sounding data from NWS for an unlimited number of locations.
- Customize your home screen to display the most relevant information.
- (Android only) Easily rearrange tiles on the SPC, MISC, and IMAGES tabs with a long press and drag-and-drop functionality.
- Utilize an OpenGL-based Nexrad radar interface with extensive configuration options, including Level 2 base reflectivity/veloCity data. Explore 2-pane and 4-pane views in the MISC tab.
- Enjoy an optimized text product viewer for convenient access to AFD, HWO, and other products from any NWS WFO.
- View Vis/IR/WV/Radar mosaic imagery with animation capabilities.
- Add widgets for Nexrad radar, radar mosaics, Vis imagery, and AFD/HWO information.
- Access SPC products, including Watches, MCDs, Convective Outlooks, and Mesoanalysis.
- Access WPC products for detailed weather analysis.
- Explore various weather models to enhance your understanding.
- Access NHC products for hurricane and tropical cyclone information.

Requirements: Android 4.1 or higher with a minimum of 1GB of memory (recommended).
Access required: Location access, network communication, and system tools (for running alerts at startup).
