The Description of Chinchón card game
Site Editorial Commentary:Chinchón, play against the computer or multiplayer
Chinchón is a widely enjoyed 2-player card game originating from Spain, with significant popularity in Latin American countries like Argentina, Uruguay, and Colombia. This application allows you to play Chinchón against other online players or challenge the AI in a single-player mode.
*** Objective of the Game ***
The primary goal in Chinchón is to create combinations of cards. These combinations consist of either sequences of three or more cards in the same suit (ladders) or sets of three or more cards with the same numerical value.
*** Game Instructions ***
At the beginning of each round, each player is dealt seven cards. The remaining cards form a face-down stock pile.
Chinchón proceeds in turns. During each turn, a player must first Draw a card and then discard one:
- drawing a card involves choosing either the top card from the face-down stock pile or the top card from the discard pile.
- Discarding a card involves either placing a card onto the discard pile or 'closing' the game.
You can only 'close' the game if the total value of any unmatched cards in your hand is four or less.
When a player closes the game, all players reveal their hands. The player who didn't close has the opportunity to add any unmatched cards to the groups or runs already laid down by the closing player.
If the closing player manages to meld all seven cards, opponents cannot add cards to their combinations.
If the closing player manages to create a seven-card straight (Chinchón), they automatically win the game.
The rules are the same for the Multiplayer game mode.
*** Points Count ***
When using a 48-card deck, each card's value corresponds to its numerical rank. When playing with a 40-card deck (without 8s and 9s), the Jack (Sota) is worth 8, the Queen (Caballo) is worth 9, and the King is worth 10.
The player who closes the game with all cards melded receives a bonus of -10 points.
*** Settings ***
Wildcards: The game offers the option to play with wildcards, which can substitute for any card in a combination.
Deck of 40 or 48 cards: You can also configure the game to use either a 48-card deck or a 40-card deck (without 8s or 9s).
*** Game Modes ***
The application features 5 distinct game modes:
- 1 Round: The player with the fewest points after a single game wins.
- 3 Rounds: The player with the fewest points after three games wins.
- 50 Points: The player who reaches 50 points first loses.
- 100 Points: The player who reaches 100 points first loses.
- Multiplayer: Play a single round against another human player online.
