**Important note:** Avare is specifically designed for aviation use and is **not** a general map application. It leverages FAA aviation materials and more to provide a comprehensive flight support tool.

**Critical Permissions:** Avare requires both Location and Storage permissions to function correctly. Please ensure both are enabled.

Avare (pronounced "ah vAir" - like "aware" with a "v") is a free moving-map Aviation GPS & Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) application for Android devices. It provides pilots with essential tools and data for flight planning and navigation.

*Note: Internet access is required only for initial app installation, aviation database and chart downloads, and updates. To conserve battery life, we recommend disabling automatic updates in the Play Store and manually updating Avare and its data. Consider flying in Airplane mode after updating.

Avare boasts Offline moving map capabilities using FAA charts, including VFR Sectional, IFR low/high enroute, Approach Plates, WAC & TAC charts. It also includes A/FD information, Airport Diagrams with GPS Taxi functionality, and Terminal Procedures. Additional features include GPS status, Terrain/Elevation Maps, a list of 50 Nearest Airports, Obstacle display, and more. Coverage extends to Puerto Rico and portions of Canada, Mexico, and the caribbean. All features are completely free and ad-free.

*Note: Like all apps on portable devices, Avare is not FAA certified for primary navigation. However, it can be used as a supplemental tool in accordance with FAA guidelines. See our NOTICE below and the FAQ on our website for links to relevant FAA documents.

Installation involves downloading the core app, followed by the aviation database and desired charts. Additional charts and materials can be downloaded at any time, free of charge.

Important: The FAA frequently updates charts. Outdated charts may cause incorrect location display in Avare. Always update charts before flight! Before updating charts, ensure you have the latest version of Avare and its database.

Access Help within the Avare app by tapping the round Menu button on the Map screen, then the rectangular Help button at the lower-left.
