FTIR spectrum library AI Editor's Review

"FTIR spectrum library" provides offline access to a gas-phase FTIR spectrum collection. Useful for researchers and students, it enables quick spectrum identification without internet. Simple interface, but lacks advanced features. A handy, on-the-go reference tool.

Comprehensive Analysis

The "FTIR spectrum library" app offers a convenient way to access a collection of gas-phase FTIR spectra offline. Users can quickly browse and identify spectra without requiring an internet connection, making it ideal for field work or situations with limited connectivity. The app's interface is straightforward and easy to navigate. However, the app lacks advanced features such as spectrum overlay, peak analysis, or the ability to import custom spectra. Overall, it's a handy reference tool for basic FTIR spectrum identification.

Key Advantages

  • Offline access to FTIR spectra
  • Simple and easy-to-use interface
  • Useful for quick spectrum identification

Areas for Improvement

  • Limited to gas-phase spectra
  • Lacks advanced spectrum analysis features

The Description of FTIR spectrum library

Site Editorial Commentary:Infrared spectra, dew point calculator, and unit conversion tool in your pocket!

* off-line access to gas-phase FTIR spectrum collection
* calculation of Sulfuric acid H2SO4 / SO3 dew point in combustion gas (Okkes formula)
* calculation of water vapor dew point
* combustion calculator: estimate O2 or CO2 concentration based on fuel type and H2O level
* unit conversion: calculates mg/m3 from ppm and vice versa
* unit conversion: calculates between pressure units millibar, bar, kilobar, hectobar, pascal, kilopascal, hectopascal, atmosphere (standard), millimeter of water (4 °C), centimeter of water (4 °C), inch of water (4 °C), foot of water (4 °C), millimeter of mercury (0 °C), foot of mercury (0 °C), torr, gram-force/square centimeter, kilogram-force/square centimeter, pound/square foot, pound/square inch, kilopond/square centimeter and kilopond/square meter
* unit conversion: converts between temperature units celsius, fahrenheit and kelvin
* knowledge base: instructions for measuring background, troubleshooting residual alarm and using the identification tool (Calcmet 14)

The absorbance spectra in this spectrum library contain detailed concentration information of the measured gas components. Additionally, chemical formula, CAS number, weight, melting point, boiling point and density is given for each compound.

An IR spectrum is a graph of infrared light absorbance on the vertical axis vs. wavelength on the horizontal axis. The units of wavelength are wave numbers (cm−1), but this app displays also the micrometers (μm) above the spectrum. Vertical axis and horizontal axis can be zoomed in independently.

Dewpoint calculator: Calculation of water dew point and Sulfuric acid dewpoint helps in planning the sampling setup so that the sample gas does not condense in your gas analyzer. Please note that the calculation is always an estimate based on the parameters entered. For Sulfuric acid the Okkes formula is used.

Combustion calculator: Estimation of the predicted O2 concentration from CO2 (or vice versa) when the fuel type and water vapor concentration are known. Tip: set water vapor to zero to calculate the dry O2 concentration.

Unit conversion includes 3 converters; Concentration, pressure and temperature. Conversion of concentration mg/m3 from ppm and vice versa, supports different reference temperatures for NTP and STP. Pressure conversion includes units millibar, bar, kilobar, hectobar, pascal, kilopascal, hectopascal, atmosphere (standard), millimeter of water (4 °C), centimeter of water (4 °C), inch of water (4 °C), foot of water (4 °C), millimeter of mercury (0 °C), foot of mercury (0 °C), torr, gram-force/square centimeter, kilogram-force/square centimeter, pound/square foot, pound/square inch, kilopond/square centimeter and kilopond/square meter. Temperature converter converts units between celsius, fahrenheit and kelvin.

Knowledge base: Quick instructions how to measure background, troubleshoot residual alarm and use identification tool (Calcmet 14) in Gasmet portable analyzers.

Note: Multicomponent analysis in-phone and file conversion/export are not supported in the app. For quantitative concentration analysis you need the Calcmet Standard software and for additional advanced library search routines the Calcmet Professional software. Please contact your nearest Gasmet distributor or Gasmet sales office for further details.
