Browser Integration:

To retrieve a password for a website, navigate to Menu/Share... and select Keepass2Android. This will:

* Prompt you to load/unlock a database if one is not already loaded and unlocked.
* Direct you to the Search Results screen, displaying all entries associated with the currently visited URL.
* Alternatively, directly offer Copy Username/Password notifications if exactly one entry matches the currently visited URL for streamlined access.

QuickUnlock:

Protect your password database with a strong, random, and lengthy password that includes uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters. To simplify the unlocking process on your mobile device, utilize the QuickUnlock feature:

* Load your database and enter your strong password once. Then, enable QuickUnlock.
* After the specified time in the settings, the application will lock.
* To re-open your database, simply type a few characters (by default, the last 3 characters of your password) for quick and easy access!
* If an incorrect QuickUnlock key is entered, the database will lock, requiring the full password to re-open.

Security Considerations:

QuickUnlock enables the use of genuinely strong passwords, enhancing security in the event of database file compromise. Furthermore, if your phone is lost and someone attempts to access the password database, they have only one attempt to exploit QuickUnlock. Using 3 characters, with an assumption of 70 possible characters, the attacker has only a 0.0003% chance of successfully opening the file. Increase the number of required characters in the settings for even greater security.

QuickUnlock requires an icon in the notification area to prevent Android from prematurely terminating Keepass2Android. This does not significantly impact battery consumption.

Keepass2Android Keyboard:

Research has revealed that clipboard-based credential access, common in many Android password managers, is vulnerable. Malicious apps can monitor clipboard changes and intercept copied passwords. To mitigate this risk, use the Keepass2Android keyboard:

When you select an entry, a notification appears in the notification bar, allowing you to switch to the KP2A keyboard. On this keyboard, click the KP2A symbol to "type" your credentials directly into the target application, bypassing the clipboard. Switch back to your preferred keyboard by clicking the keyboard key.
