**Data Storage Information for Different Android Versions:**

* **Android 10 and below:**
The user-entered information is stored in the `FamilyTree` directory within the device's internal memory. You can specify a different folder in Settings, such as one on an SD card.
To create copies or transfer information to another device, simply copy the `FamilyTree` folder. On the new device, specify the path to this folder in the Settings.

* **Android 11 and higher:**
In accordance with Google's security policy, user-entered information is stored in the application's internal directory, specifically within the `FamilyTree` directory in the device's internal memory.

**Important note:** Regularly back up your information to prevent data loss.

The application utilizes the GEDCOM file format for exchanging data. GEDCOM allows you to transfer text-based information about individuals and their associated icons.

For a complete backup, ZIP archiving is recommended. This will archive the `FamilyTree` folder, including all photographs, document copies, and video materials.

The designated public folder for file sharing is the `Download` folder.

**Data Export:**

1. In the settings, select the desired data type: GEDCOM or ZIP.
2. The application will create a data archive file (either `familytree.ged` or `familytree.zip`) in the `Downloads` directory.
3. To download information from the `Download` directory, connect to a PC via USB or utilize the application's cloud service integrations.

**Data Import:**

1. Place your GEDCOM or ZIP files in the `Download` directory. You can transfer files via Google Drive, Dropbox, USB from a PC, or by emailing the files to yourself and saving them to the `Download` folder.
2. In the settings, select the appropriate data type: "Export GEDCOM" or "Extract ZIP."
3. The application will then import the data.
