Mindi is a strategic four-player partnership game originating from India, where the primary goal is to win tricks containing tens.

Players and Cards:
The game involves four players divided into two teams, with partners seated opposite each other. The deal and gameplay proceed in a clockwise direction.

A standard 52-card international pack is used. The cards in each suit are ranked from high to low as follows: A-K-Q-J-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2.

The Deal and Making Trumps:
The initial dealer is chosen randomly by drawing cards from a shuffled deck. It can be decided that the player drawing the highest card will deal. Subsequently, the dealer is always a member of the losing team from the previous round.

The dealer shuffles the cards and deals 13 cards to each player.

There are several methods for selecting the trump suit (hukum). Players should agree on a method before starting the session. Here are three possibilities:
BANDH HUKUM (Hide Mode): The player to the dealer's left selects a card from their hand and places it face down on the table. The suit of this card becomes the trump suit.
CUT HUKUM (Katte Mode): Play begins without selecting a trump suit. The first time a player cannot follow suit, the suit of the card they choose to play becomes the trump suit for that deal.

The Play:
The player to the dealer's left starts the game by leading any card to the first trick. Players must follow suit if possible. If a player cannot follow suit, they may play any card. A trick that contains no trumps is won by the highest card of the suit led. If any trumps are played, the highest trump wins. The winner of the trick collects the cards, adds them to their team's pile of tricks, and leads the next trick.

If the game is played in Hide Mode (bandh hukum), the hidden card is revealed as soon as a player is unable to follow suit, and its suit becomes the trump for the deal. The revealed trump card is returned to the owner's hand. The player who couldn't follow suit can play any card to this trick, with no obligation to play a trump.

Scoring:
The side that captures three or four tens in its tricks wins the deal. If each side has two tens, the team that won seven or more tricks is the winner.

Winning by capturing all four tens is known as mendikot. Taking all thirteen tricks is a 52-card mendikot or whitewash.

There appears to be no formal scoring method. The goal is simply to win as often as possible, with a win by mendikot considered more prestigious than a regular win.

The result determines which member of the losing team deals next:

If the dealer's team loses, the same player continues to deal.
If the dealer's team wins, the turn to deal passes to the left.
